About me

Sophie Buchinger
BSc (Nat), MNHAA

As a holistic health practitioner, Sophie believes in combining traditional naturopathic skills and knowledge with today’s scientific research and diagnostic testing to help patients understand the cause of their conditions. Sophie educates patients empowering them to make sustainable and achievable changes in order to support optimal wellbeing and healing.  Through Sophie’s naturopathic interventions, she has seen patients with ongoing and chronic issues have pronounced health improvements.

Sophie grew up in Tasmania, in an environment focused on healthy eating and self-sustainability. Her German mother valued home-cooked, home grown and unprocessed meals - a way of eating and living Sophie still embraces.

Sophie has had a passion to help others from an early age. She holistically assesses patients to provide each one person with an individually tailored and integrative treatment plan, using herbal medicine, nutritional supplements as well as food as medicine, diet and lifestyle approaches. Sophie is respectful and understanding of each person’s unique health journey, age and background. Sophie recognises the limitations of natural therapies and takes a collaborative approach to her clients’ health and wellbeing, referring patients to medical and allied health care practitioners when appropriate.

Sophie treats a broad range of conditions, often with stress and inflammation as underlying factors. She has a special interest in helping people manage stress by regulating their nervous system response, which can often impact on the function of other body systems.
